Corona-proof Cornet Trail, 4th edition of Belgian Brewer Trails, lands in Steenhuffel

Placed by Yelka Van den Eede op

Because exercise is healthy and enjoyment is good for our morals, more than 9 Belgian Brewers have now joined forces and are developing a new trail concept in collaboration with INTO Sport Events: the Belgian Brewer Trails. The Cornet Trail is a guest in Steenhuffel - Londerzeel from April 9 to 25!

New exercise and experience concept

“The Belgian Brewer Trails offers an answer to an experience that many people have missed in the past year: a combination of discovering, tasting, experiencing and moving. We provide a safe, individual sports approach with the experience of a sporting event. ”, says Yves Hellemans, beer lover and manager of INTO Sport Events.

Trail running is a form of running, in which the participants run off-road on narrower paths. A slightly more adventurous concept than the classic asphalt running race, where the focus is mainly on fast times. The format offers a completely different experience, in which connection with nature is central. Compare it a bit with what mountain bike is to cycling.

Course for all runners

"At CORNET we want to connect people, which of course creates a challenge in these times"says Tom Robberechts - Marketing Manager of CORNET."With our participation in this action, we therefore want to offer perspective to the sporty minds & bring them into contact with our beautiful beer! To underline this, we have made sure that the domain of Diepensteyn Castle can also be walked, so that the runners come into contact with the history of CORNET.. "

There is an offer for every level. Three routes of 6, 12 and 21 kilometers respectively cross the municipality and take you along some beautiful pieces of nature. Be sure to discover them! The local athletics clubs Pegasus and Olympia, take care of the daily maintenance of the routes and they are also ready to make it a wonderful experience.

The icing on the cake: the Run & Bike course for cuddly contacts & family members. You complete this 21 km long course in pairs, each time someone is cycling and someone is walking.

Local anchoring

Belgian Brewer Trails tells a story that is socially supported. It is an action for and by local breweries and associations, which contribute production and content to highlight the best of their region.

The fact that the initiative comes from local breweries and associations naturally motivates the municipalities to support the initiative. Due to the Covid measures, the breweries are facing the necessary challenges.

Ships of Sport Dimitri Robbyns: “Thanks to the fully corona-safe approach, it is also a great sporting experience for the entire population for us as a municipal council. Our municipality has a reputation for always having a lot of life in the brewery. In summer and winter we organize small & larger activities for our population. In the summer of 2020 and last winter, we will focus on creative and corona-safe programs. We are very excited to be able to host a sporty experience with these trail routes”Said ships of Sport Dimitri Robbyns.

Participate?

By participating in the various Belgian Brewer Trails, you will discover a delicious Belgian beer brand, cross the “hidden gems” of nature on and around the brewery, and support an association, the participating brewer and (hopefully again soon) the local catering industry.

Due to the closure of the catering industry, participants will receive a Cornet gift as a thank you afterwards, to replace the deserved tasting on the spot. Walk first, then enjoy. Or better: No Pain - No Grain!
